Five more die in Kurram clashes

SADDA: Five more persons, including three women, were killed and 10 others injured in fresh clashes between rival groups in different parts of the troubled Kurram Agency on Friday.

Sources said a group fired several rockets at Sadda city and its suburbs, one of which struck the house of Sardar Khan in Mandan area, killing three women and injuring eight others, including four children.

Eyewitnesses said the rockets were fired from the direction of Mingak village, but the claim could not be confirmed by independent sources. Also, fierce fighting was going on between the rival parties in Balishkhel, Sangeena, Khar Killay, Sadda city, Mingak and Lakay Sar in hilltop of Makhzai area, leaving two persons dead. Both the groups were using heavy weaponry against each other.It was learnt that the armed men of six tribes had taken control of the hilltop known as Lakay Sar in Makhzai area after fierce gunfight.
