PARACHINAR: Twelve security forces personnel were injured when a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicles, escorting a convoy of people, overturned in the Arawali area of the lower part of Kurram Agency on Thursday.

It was the first time in almost three years that the people from Upper Kurram reached Peshawar, as militants had established their own checkpoints in several places on the way from Sadda to Chapri. Members of Turi and other tribes had to travel through Afghanistan and then re-enter Pakistan from the Torkham border to reach Peshawar.

The convoy of 29 vehicles, heavily guarded by FC men ,passed through the roads across Kurram Agency, previously occupied by militant groups. The tribesmen thanked the political administration and FC officials for providing security to them besides clearing the roads of militants across the agency. The sources said security forces had imposed a curfew in Sadda bazaar and surrounding areas for the last 10 days.
