PARACHINAR: Six persons including pilot sustained critical injuries when a mini passenger plane of a private company crash-landed on Parachinar Airport after developing a technical fault on Saturday.
Talking to The News, Imran Javed, pilot of the plane, said that nose wheel of the plane could not open due to some technical fault when it came on the runway during landing.
The plane, he said, again taxied and then smashed against the runway.
Five persons identified as Mushtaq Hussain son of Gul Afzal, Dildar Hussain, Mushtaq Hussain son of Nazar Ali, Gohar Ali, Shoaib Hussain and pilot Captain Imran Javed sustained injuries. Soon after the incident, Political Agent Abdul Baseer Khan and FC Commandant Officer Col Tausif Akhtar rushed to airport and reviewed the rescue work.
Later, the levies personnel removed the wreckage. Due to closure of routes because of sectarian strife in Kurram Agency, private companies have started flights of mini-planes to facilitate the passengers.
