Tuesday, August 18, 2009 Five shot dead in Kurram By our correspondent PARACHINAR: Two Afghans were among five shot dead in two separate incidents in Lower Kurram on Monday. Tribal sources said a passenger van was on its way to the Kakrai village when unidentified gunmen opened fire at the vehicle near the Bagan area, killing three persons on the spot and injuring four others. The identity of the dead and the injured could not be ascertained immediately, as they were shifted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital, Parachinar. Meanwhile, unidentified militants shot dead two Afghan nationals at Shahidano Dhand. The bodies were handed over to the Afghan officials at a border check-post. |
