 FC says convoy was not looted |

| Wednesday, August 12, 2009 Bureau report PESHAWAR: The Frontier Corps has said militants did not loot its convoy in Kurram. A statement issued by the FC Media Cell on Tuesday asserted that the news story carried by The News in its August 10 issue was not correct. The communication said the medicines donated by a non-governmental organisation, Child Welfare, were lying in Sadha main hospital. The NGO requested the Frontier Corps to transport these drugs to Parachinar for that would be distributed by the organisation at a free medical camp. The locals of Sadha area wrongly assumed that they were being deprived of the medicines. The medicines are lying with elders of the area. Efforts are, however, in hand to convince the elders for their use in Upper Kurram. |
