ISLAMABAD, July 24 (APP)- President Asif Ali Zardari Friday advised the government to arrange passenger flight service between Parachinar and Peshawar on urgent basis to alleviate the problems of the locals, and sought a report within two weeks.Spokesperson of the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar said the President telehoned the Defence Minister during a meeting with delegation of tribal MNAs, who called on him at the Presidency and said that the service be provided by small aircraft.
The delegation sought President's intervention in addressing the problems faced by the tribal people.
The MNAs who called on the President included Hameedullah Jan Afridi from Khyber Agency Sajid Turi of Kurrum Agency and Bilal Rehman of Mohmand Agency.
The MNA from Kurrum Agency Sajid Turi pointed out that people of Kurrum Agency faced great difficulties while transporting sick people to hospitals in Peshawar and asked for the restoration of airlink.
The President asked the Defence ministry to conisder the proposal on a priority basis by arranging a 21 seater small air craft, even if a second hand one, for this purpose.
The President also directed that a comprehensive briefing should be arranged in the Presidency on FATA development including the construction of dams in the tribal areas, Farhatullah Babar said.
The tribal MNAs thanked the President for his keen interest in the welfare and development of tribal people.
